Dowe-216 and Dowe-10 are not ready to be merged because: while they are most-likely the same person, this merge needs to be postponed until the records for daughter Batte-267 is better researched. I know of NO record that mentions this family was ever a Quaker (See Batte-267 sources).

And it is 100% certain that no Dorothy Bate / Batte / Batts from Lincolnshire, married a French-born Theo d'Aubigne - her husband was born in Lincolnshire, England. It is an old false genealogy confusion to assert that the Daubney/Dabney family of colonial Virginia were at all closely related to French ancestors and especially to the French Huguenot philosopher-poet named d'Aubigne of the 16th Century. Do NOT merge until serious research is done to align these 2 families correctly.

Dowe-216 and Dowe-10 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same vital dates, same spouse, same child Dorothy
