Hi Pam, Welcome to WikiTree!! I see that you have uploaded a gedcom with more than 1,000 people. I strongly encourage you to start with a much smaller gedcom, maybe about 50 people, just to see how the gedcom process works on WikiTree. Many of us who have worked for some time on WikiTree have found that cleaning up profiles after a gedcom import can be as much work as entering each individual manually. In a gedcom import, when you exclude people from your tree who are already on WikiTree (which you need to do to prevent duplicates), the links between parents and children are lost and you have to reconnect them. Many times sources don't transfer well and have to be redone. Please read as much as you can about importing a gedcom on WikiTree before you do one! Kay Wilson, Ranger
Have you checked the GEDCOM info in the Help Index? There is a whole section on the subject. I have not used one, so I won't be able to assist you from a personal standpoint. I'm going to send you several links that will hopefully help you.
If all else fails, you can contact a Mentor to guide you through.
Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.
To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.
We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot
of great new things are happening? If you are interested
and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right
of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down
box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has
information listed that might be of interest to you, and
feel free to contact any of the members if you would like
additional details.
How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.
How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!
