Biography
Temperance Dowling likely married James Rowell around 1844. According to census records, she was the biological mother of David, Eliza, Sophia, James, Jesse, Mary, (Celestia) Hester Ann, John, Temperance, Martha, Francis, William, and Kizzie Rowell. The family appears to have moved frequently. The census records also indicate that all of the children were born in Georgia. Except for William he was born in Taylor, Florida. [1]
