This seems to be the John Downing identified online at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:SPSZ-17D as the father of Amy (Downing-2154) Colwell. Her dob however is 1664.

Could John have had an earlier marriage with children? Could somebody give me a hand here?
