Prior to her marriage to Richard Powell Bell, Cleta (sometimes spelled "Clete") was educated at Miss Malette's school in Fayetteville, NC, and then attended Oxford College in Oxford, NC, and Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.
Cleta's grave is located at Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, Randleman, NC.
