Biography

Daniel was born in 1877. He is the son of William Henry Downing and Sophia Smith.

He was called "Lon" by family and friends and was married twice.

Daniel is buried at Cross Creek Cemetery in Fayetteville, North Carolina. There is a photo of his marker. His two wives' markers, Mary Bell Breece and Abbie Fisher are also photographed as well as some children and other family members. [[1]]

D. Lon, 52 years, an automobile dealer and wife Abbie F., 33, a teacher are recorded in Fayetteville, NC in 1930 with six children in the household. The first four are by his his first wife, Mary Belle Breece and the last two by Abbie. [[2]]

D. Lon Downing and both wives are recorded in the 1978 Breece Reunion papers as being md first to Mary Belle Breece and Secondly to Abbie F. (Unk).

Lon, as he was called, is buried at Cross Creek Cemetery (#2 or #3?) , Fayetteville, NC [[3]]
