Biography
Mary Ann Doyle (Maureen) born 28 Oct 1914 at Killacloran, co Wicklow, dau of John and Margaret (Neill) Doyle. [1] Maureen worked as a nurse in England. At he start of the 2ND World War decided to go to America but the only way that she could go was via Australia in 1939 first in Adelaide then Melbourne planning to go on to America. Too late America joined the war . While staying in Melbourne met Fr James Lee a Catholic priest who introduced her to Harry Anderson owner of Anderson Mills. Maureen worked as secretary during day. People were encouraged to work also at night so she joined the CIB as an undercover agent. She met James Doyle in April 1943, moved to Sydney and married his namesake.. No more info is currently available for Maureen Doyle. Can you add to her biography?
She passed away in 2000.[2]
