Birth records at Qld. Archives show Ellen's birth date as 29/8/1897.(97/8/060911) This is incorrect for the following reasons:-

1. Family photographs show her to be older than Peter Doyle and younger than Margaret.

2. The recorded date is only 6.5 months after birth of Brigid Hannah. A baby so premature is unlikely to have survived at that period. Photographs show her to be much taller than Brigid Hannah.

3. Ellen's daughter Joyce says her mother's birthday was always celebrated on 13 March and her age at death in January 1966 was 74 making her year of birth 1891.
