Biography

Esther lived with her parents Patrick and Mary in Corning, NY. The 1910 Census states that Esther is adopted.^[1]

Esther was engaged to John Riff in 1916 but it is unclear if the marriage ever happened.^[2] Her mother died in 1918 and the newspaper notices refer to her still as Esther Doyle.^[3] Esther graduated from the Corning Free Academy, the Northside Training Class, and Meeker's Business School.
