Sussex Register - 1854 – At the residence of Wm. Howell, in Berkshire Valley, on Saturday morning, March 25, Azariah Drake, of Newton, aged 78 years. His remains were brought to this place and interred in the Newton Cemetery on Sunday afternoon last. The Sussex Register, 1 Apr 1854 - obit clearly says March 25. The date of the paper was handwritten along the side of the clipping. This date does not match the information transcribed from the tombstone on FindaGrave which was 28 March 1851. However, 1854 would more closely match the age at death based on the birth year that I have for Azariah. I have concluded that the date in the paper is correct. March 25 was a Saturday in 1854 and a Tuesday in 1851. I believe that the date on the tombstone must have been illegible.----
