MRS. A. R. CALDECOTT, 1892 Née Drake, daughter of Sir William Henry Drake. Mr. and Mrs. Caldecott were married in 1887 and came to Rhodesia early in 1892. Mrs. Caldecott attended the first dance held in Rhodesia in August, 1892. It was given in Salisbury by Mr. Stamford Brown and, according to the Mashonaland Herald it was either "to commemorate the opening of his large store or the arrival and settling in Salisbury of so many charming ladies".
