Biography

Thomas Drew was born about 1706 in Middleborough, Massachusetts, the child of John Drew.

Thomas, who was thought to be a shipwright, married Abigail Harris on August 16, 1739, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. They had a number of children during their marriage.

"The Plymouth Directory" recounts an incident were Thomas Drew Assists a deserting British soldier just before the war for independence and later recounts a story of him building a vessel in a nearby pond. This is probably this Thomas Drew, thought it could have been his son Thomas.

He died on June 14, 1770, in Halifax, Massachusetts, at the age of 64, and was buried there.

Married Abigail Harris, daughter of Samuel Harris and Abigail Harden/Harding.

Thomas and Abigail (Harris) Drew had the following (8) children:

Probate

Thomas Drew of Halifax, cordwainer died intestate and on 17 November 1770, Thomas Drew of Plimton was granted the administration of his estate.[1]

His inventory was taken on 20 November 1770 in Halifax.[2]

Drew-40 and Drew-3589 appear to represent the same person because: My error. I didn't notice that he already had a profile until I tried to add his wife. According to the 2002 Alden Silver Book, his date of birth is "about 1706" based on age at death. He was baptized 2 February 1723/4 at First Congregational Church.
