Biography

Lemuel was a Shipwright

He married Margaret James on 1 March 1737/38 in Hingham.[1]

Together they had the following children:

  1. Benjamin
  2. Seth
  3. Lemuel

Probate

Lemuel died intestate and on 8 December 1755, his widow Margaret was granted the administration of his estate. He is described as a shipwright. His inventory was taken on 30 November 1755 in Plymouth. An account of his estate was recorded which included necessaries to the widow.[2]

Research Notes

  • Tower refers to Margaret James' spouse as Samuel Drew of Hingham. Lincoln's History of Hingham does not have any entries for Drew. Marriage certificate notes first name as Lemuel.
  • On line trees show that Margaret James married Seth Drew, and had the children listed above. Margaret Keen's will clearly says her children are Benjamin, Seth and Lemuel Drew. See her profile for details.
