Sir Erasmus Dryden, Bt. of Canons Ashby (b. 20 Dec 1553 - d. 22 May 1632; bur. Canons Ashby).[1][2]
m. (in or bef. 1580) Frances (d. 16 Feb. 1631; bur. Canons Ashby), younger dau. of William Wilkes of Hodnell, co. Warws. & co-h. of her bros. Robert of Hodnell.[2]
John Dryden left a will dated 15 August 1584, proved 10 September 1584. In it, among other provisions, he:[3][7]
requested burial at Canons Ashby, Northamptonshire
named:
his children Erasmus (his oldest son), George (his second son), Elizabeth, John, Thomas, Bridget, Emma, Nicholas, Stephen and Mary (giving her married name Foxley)
his nephews David[?] Dryden and Christopher Dryden
his son Erasmus's children son John and daughters Frances and Elizabeth
his "cozen" William Dryden
his sister Elizabeth Marwell
appointed his son Erasmus executor, with his son George as fallback executor
