Biography

Rachel Elisabeth was born on 1 May 1773[1] to Jan Gabriel du Plessis and Rachel Blignaut.[2]

She was baptised on 9 May 1773 in the Dutch Reformed Church of Drakenstein in Paarl.[2]

She married Daniel Johannes Malan on 11 May 1794 in the Dutch Reformed Church of Cape Town in Cape Town.[3]

She died on 28 May 1807 in the Paarl district at the age of 34 years and 27 days.[1]

Du Plessis-174 and Du Plessis-344 appear to represent the same person because: Rachel Elisabeth, gedoopt 9 May 1773, daughter of Jan Gabriel du Plessis and Rachel Blignau(l)t, gehuwd 11 May 1794 met Daniel Johannes Malan, son of Jacobus Johannes Malan and Anna Aletta Retief.
