Parents: Stephen Dubois, born 14 Aug 1745, Montreal; and Mary Charlotte Lacelle, born 17 Nov 1741, Montreal, buried 30 Sep 1819.

Canada, Quebec Catholic Parish Registers, 1621-1979 Montréal Notre-Dame, Baptêmes, mariages, sépultures 1767-1781[1] states: "Baptised at Basillique Notre-Dame in Montreal on December 21st 1769, Etienne Dubois, born the same day, legitimate son of Etienne Dubois and Marie Charlotte Lasalle."

According to the Genealogy of the French Families of the Detroit River Region by Rev. Father Christian Denissen, page 415- 416, his children are as follows:

Stephen married twice, First to Marguerite Descomps dit LaBadie 11 May 1792 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, 2nd to Susanne Facer(sic) 7 January 1823 also in Detroit. His Children from his first marriage are: Marie DUBOIS Hopkins b.1802, Jean "John" Baptist Dubois b.1805-1807, Elizabeth Scholastic DUBOIS McDougall,Fish b.1808, Jacques Antoine "James Anthony" DuBois b.1809, and Charles DuBois b.1812 and Louis William DuBois b.1814. Was the chanter and sexton for Saint Anne's church.
