Peter Dubois was christened June 19, 1707, in the Reformed Dutch Church in Kingston, Ulster county, New York, a son of the immigrant, Peter DuBois born March 17, 1674, in Leiden, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands, and his wife Jannetje Burhans. About 1736, Peter married Annatje Rachel Ter Bos, born in Kingston, a daughter of Johannes Ter Bos and his wife, Lysbeth Hendrixen.
Elizabeth Du Bois, a daughter of Peter and Jannetje married Lieutenant Johannes George Weaver, a veteran of the American Revolutionary War and resided in German Flats, Tryon county, New York. [1]
Some family trees say that Peter DuBois served in the Dutchess County Militia, as a Captain in the 2nd and 4th Regiments, during the American Revolution, [2] however that Peter Du Bois was born in 1739, in Fishkill, New York, died in 1814, in Fishkill and married Hannah Cheesman. [3]
