Biography

David was born in Esopus n1 to Lowies Duboeys and his wife, Cateryn Blanchan. He was baptized 1667 March 13th with Andries Pietersen and Lysbet Blanchan as witnesses [1]. His siblings are Jacob [2], Sara [3], Rebecca [4], and Ragel [5].

David was married 1689 March 8th to Cornelia Varnoye [6]. Their children are Catryn [7], Catryn [8], Hanna [9], Anna [10], Josophat [11], and Elizabet [12].

David and his wife witnessed the baptism of her niece, Seeletjen Hoornbeek [13].

David died after 1731 in Mombaccus (Rochester), Ulster Co., New York n2. Note: Do not confuse the town of Rochester in Ulster County, New York with its homonym, the city of Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. They are hundreds of miles apart.

Notes

  • note one: David could not have been born in Hurley, Ulster County, New York because Hurley was not established until 1669 as a resettlement of the village of Niew Dorp [14] and the area called Esopus by the settles of the New Netherland Colony did not become Ulster County til 1683 [15].
  • note two: The place of death is quite confused. Mombaccus became Rochester NY in 1803 [16], but how does Monroe come into it? Where does 1731 come from? Note: Do not confuse the town of Rochester in Ulster County, New York with its homonym, the city of Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. They are hundreds of miles apart and Rochester, Monroe, NY was not founded until 1817.
  • David settled in Rochester (Ulster County) NY after 1695
