Jules Duchene, son of Alcide Duchene and Francoise Boutte, was born on 2 June 1871 at Iberia Parish, Louisiana, USA. His birth was recorded at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Lydia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana.[1]
His mother died in 1878. His father remarried and he was labeled as an orphan when he appeared on the census of 12 June 1880 in the household of his uncle, Felix Boutte, brother of his mother, and his aunt, Virginie Boutte, at Isle Piquante, Iberia Parish, Louisiana.[2]
He married Marie Divine Fournet, daughter of Valsin Fournet and Marie Angelina Renaud, on 24 Jan 1894 the marriage was recorded at St. Martin of Tours, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.[1]
He was a carpenter at a shipyard when he and Marie Divine appeared on the census of 6 June 1900 at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.[3] He was a carpenter at a saw mill when he appeared on the census of 27 April 1910 at St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.[4] He appeared on the census of 3 Jan. 1920 at Gibson, Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.[5]
He was a farmer in 1930 when he appeared on the census of 16 April 1930 at Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.[6] He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 3 April 1940 at Gibson, Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.[7]
Jules died on 3 Feb. 1960 at Orleans Parish, Louisiana, at age 88.[8]
