Biography

Allen Duckworth was born about 1782 in Richmond, Province of Georgia, son of Jeremiah Duckworth (1740–<1809) and Christiana Ramsey (~1742–1846).

Allen (27) married Thirza Reese (19) (born about 1790 in Georgia, United States; daughter of Hugh Reese and Sarah (Unknown) Reese) on 4 Dec 1810 in Warren, Georgia, United States. [1]

Allen died about 1830 in Monroe, Mississippi, United States, aged about 47.

In 1817 Allen Duckworth lives in Capt. Rowland's district (image 212/480). He has no slaves and 56.5 acres on White's Creek adjoining Reese. Benjamin Reese's entry is 5 away from that of Allen Duckworth. Benjamin owns 6 slaves and 303 acres on White's Creek adjoining Carter. His land seems to be in a tract originally granted to Duckworth. Allen Duckworth's land seems to be in a tract originally granted to Ansley and Duckworth.

In 1818 Allen Duck lives in Capt. William's district (image 257/480). He has no slaves and 56.5 acres on White's Creek adjoining Reese and originally granted to Ansley etc. Benjamin Reese and Hugh Reese have contiguous entries on image 259/480. Both adjoin Carter; Benjamin in on White's Creek and Hugh is on B. B. C. (Big Brier Creek).

Census

Allen Duckworth is not in the 1820 census. His wife is in the 1830 census.

Death

The fact that his wife has 4 children <5 in the 1830 census indicates that her husband died shortly before 1830, maybe in Georgia, maybe in Mississippi.
