Uncle James C. Hyne, who was very thorough in his research, listed Althea's father differently in two different places. On his typed 1952 work, however, he listed her father as William G. Duckworth. He also listed her siblings which match quite closely with the children of William G. Duckworth. He also mentioned William's second wife as Rachel Hibbs. There can be no doubt that the Ransaleer Duckworth once mentioned as her father was an error and that the real father is William G. Duckworth.
Robert Martin (son of James and Althea) described his mother as a red-haired flannel-mouthed Irishwoman. Mary Martin Moss described Althea as a decidedly unpleasant old woman in her later years.
It is not known when she and her husband moved to IA from IN. Maybe some census work could help here.
Living with son Willis in Iowa in the 1880 census.
