William (Duff) Duff of Dipple is a member of Clan MacDuff.
He married firstly, in 1681 to Jean Gordon of Edinglassie. They had nine children.
He married secondly, in 1708 in Inverness, to Jean Dunbar of Durn. She died in 1750 and they had five children. see Book of Duffs.
According to William Baird, writing in his 1773 "Memoirs of the Duffs" (see sources list below), William Duff of Dipple was apprentice, and afterwards partner to his uncle, the Provost and Sir John Calder, "who were in Company [i.e. in business together], and they three carried on for many years almost all the Foreign Trade be-north Aberdeen. The Provost made a great Fortune with a fair Character".
