Robert William Duff, of Fetteresso, was born in 1767 at Logie. He was the son of Vice Admiral Robert Duff and Helen Duff.[1]
He commanded the Forfar Artillery and Kincardine Millitia for a period and was known as 'The Colonel' afterwards.
At 22, he married his stepsister and second cousin Mary Morison at Saint Cuthberts, Edinburgh, on the 18th of April, 1789.[2][1] They had a family of at least 8 children.
He died on the 22nd of March, 1834, age 66, and was buried in the Fetteresso St Chairan Kirkyard, Stonehaven.[3]
