Biography

Francoise Xavier Boudrot and his wife Margueritte Dugast are on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 8-Right Le Beaumont.^[1]

Marie Marguerite Dugas was born and baptized on July 29, 1761 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Picardie, France. Her parents were Claude Dugas and Marguerite Cyr. ^[2]

In September 1784 in Nantes, France, she appeared on a list of Acadians wishing to "go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty" with her brother Jean-Pierre and his wife Jeanne Cabon. ^[3]

She married Francois Boudreaux on May 10, 1785 in Chantenay, Bretagne, France. There was a dispensation for 4-4 consanguinity because they were 3rd cousins. ^[2][4]

Together they had 1 child:

1. Louise Boudreaux

They emigrated to Louisiana aboard Le Beaumont, arriving in New Orleans on 19 August 1785. ^[5]

Marguerite DUGAS, age 24, wife of Francois Xavier BOUDROT, age 25, traveling with him as the 30th family (of 2 persons) aboard "Le Beaumont."

She died in September 1786 in Iberville. She was buried on 5 September 1786 in Saint-Gabriel, Iberville, Louisiana. ^[6]
