Biography

Victoire "Victorie" Dugas was born about about 1742 in Cobequid, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter Alexis Dugas and Marie Bourg.

Victoire married Pierre Oliver Benoit about 1760 in Bras D’Or, île Royale (now Cape Breton), Acadia. ^{[citation needed]} Their marriage was revalidated in Arichat, Ile Madame, on August 12, 1771. ^[1] The date and location of their marriage before witnesses were omitted in the register. This will need to be resolved against the recorded births of their children beginning with twins in 1764. This biography and vital data will be updated pending ongoing research.
