Madeleine Dugas was born on December 29, 1723 in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. Her parents were François Dugas and Claire Bourg. She was baptized at birth by Alexandre Robichaux and ceremonies took place 16 April 1724 at St Jean Baptiste Church, Port Royal (Renamed Annapolis Royal in 1710 by the British). [1][2]
She married Jean Baptiste Laure, son of the late Pierre Lorre and the late Jeanne Doucet on February 15, 1751. Her parents were present. Witnesses were Charles Lore, Pierre Lore, Paul Dugast, Joseph Mathieu.[3]
