DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Marie by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Dugas-874 and Dugas-170 appear to represent the same person because: Marie Dugas was originally set as wife of Joseph Landry. She is his mother. same person as Dugas-a170
Removed her as his wife and removed her as mother of Cecile, gave her Marie Josephe Richard as mother per these two genealogists. Need to do something with this profile - merge with Dugas-170 the one who is Joseph's mother?
I agree with this merge. Apparently in the marriage record of Cecile Landry and Michel Rivet, the priest entered her grandmother's name as her mother. So merging Dugas-874 into Dugas-170 is appropriate. This was part of my very early Acadian research and I guess I never got back to it after all this time. Thanks for the correction!
No worries, Joyce - we all have those lurking in history somewhere. Thanks for connecting back. It's been surprising what the sourcing Thon did for finding various kinds of relationship situations. It was good work, though slow, because of all the other good stuff that came with it. IDK how these people did 1000 over the weekend!
