Research Notes

The date of death 15 October 1784 in Carleton belongs to her sister Jeanne Dugas (abt.1700-1784). (DGFA p. 569 entry for Jeanne Dugas). The following websites and family trees do not mention a date or location of death for Marie Dugas:

Ancestry family trees mention this date for both Anne and Jeanne, including 25 October 1784 giving as only source, not at all a reliable one, Netherlands, GenealogieOnline Trees Index, 1000-2015.

Searched the Carleton parish registers in Family Search and could not find anything for those dates. Cormier-1939 16:57, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Dugas-874 and Dugas-170 appear to represent the same person because: Marie Dugas was originally set as wife of Joseph Landry. She is his mother. same person as Dugas-a170

I think Marie Dugas is the mother of Joseph Landry, not his wife. She is Marie Dugas

Removed her as his wife and removed her as mother of Cecile, gave her Marie Josephe Richard as mother per these two genealogists. Need to do something with this profile - merge with Dugas-170 the one who is Joseph's mother?

I agree with this merge. Apparently in the marriage record of Cecile Landry and Michel Rivet, the priest entered her grandmother's name as her mother. So merging Dugas-874 into Dugas-170 is appropriate. This was part of my very early Acadian research and I guess I never got back to it after all this time. Thanks for the correction!

No worries, Joyce - we all have those lurking in history somewhere. Thanks for connecting back. It's been surprising what the sourcing Thon did for finding various kinds of relationship situations. It was good work, though slow, because of all the other good stuff that came with it. IDK how these people did 1000 over the weekend!
