Biography

Anne was born 5 May 1740. She was the daughter of Michel Joseph Caissie and Catherine Poirier. She was baptized 7 May 1740 at Beaubassin. Her godparents were Charles Poyrie and Charles Poyrie.[1]

She was listed in the la Roque census in 1752 at Port-la-Joye, living with her step-mother (second wife of her father), though perhaps she is called an orphan because her father and mother had died by then.[2]

CENSUS: Placide Gaudet, REPORT CONCERNING CANADIAN ARCHIVES FOR THE YEAR 1905; 1600-1800; vol. II, part A, original a Sessional Paper no. 18 of the Archives, reprinted Heritage Books, 1994; p. 79; own copy; census by the Sieur de la Roque at Isle St. Jean in 1752.
