Marshall Duncan II, son of Marshall I and Mary Ann (Durron) was born about 1739 Prince William Co. VA.

Marshall II married Betsey Denston Rogers, Rowan Co. NC [1] [2]

Betsey Denston Rogers was the daughter of widow Catharine Denston (Dintha) Rogers.

Marshall II died probably in Ky after the 1810 census. Betsey died unknown.

1771-1772 -- in Botetourt Co. VA on William Herbert's list of tithables (as Marchel Dunkam)
1778 -- oath of allegiance to James McCorkle of Montgomery Co. VA between 30 Sept. and 5 Dec. 1778 [3]
1781 -- tax list of Elk Creek District as not fit [4]
1782 -- tax list [5]
1782 -- Commissioner's certificate . . . assigned to Marshall Duncan, for 400 acres of land on Elk Creek in Montgomery Co. VA, settled in 1772, and entered 13 Sept. 1782 [6]
1783 -- on Horse Creek, Sullivan Co. TN, next to Thomas Titsworth Sr. ("Marshall Duncan's branch" in Sullivan Co. [7] whose land also adjoined Isaac Titsworth;
1789 -- Isaac Titsworth sold one parcel of land on the Fall Branch of Horse Creek which was on Charles Duncans' orphans line Sullivan Co. TN [8].
1786-1794 -- in Hawkins Co. TN on Caney Creek next to Henry Johns [9]
1797-1815 -- (probably in Shelby Co. KY) on Elk Creek tax lists. Marshall Duncan of Hawkins Co. TN sold some of his land to Henery Johns [10]. [11]

1799 -- Marshall Duncan and Henry Johns were bondsman for the marriage on 6 April 1799 of Thomas Johns to Sally Reed,

1800 -- There are several Marshall Duncans in the early 1800's.

Transcription of 1765 marriage bond:

Know (—) by these Presents that we Marshall Duncan Junr, Marshall Duncan Senr, and Thomas Denston Rogers, all of the county of Rowan, North Carolina are held firmly bound unto (—) John Frohock his (—) and assigns the just and full sum of fifty pounds current money, for which payment to be well & duly made and done we bind our selves and heirs and assigns jointly & separately, firmly by these presents Dated this 2 day of April 1765.

The condition of the above obligation is such that we the above bounds Marshall Duncan Junr, Marshall Duncan Senr & Thomas Denston Rogers, shall and will well & freely Indemnify the above named (—) John Frohock, for granting a Lysine for the above bounded Marshall Duncan Junr for to intermarried with Beth Denston Rogers Daughter of the widow Catherina Denston Rogers of the County & Province aforesaid —
