Biography

Was a boy scout in The Coachwhip Patrol of Boy Scouts (Ballina) Was named on the Harvey Shield. March 1932 aged 11yo. (Published np. Northern Star Ballina, pp.8, pd. March 31 1932) Picture avail.

Appeared as the 'messenger' in the play of The Swineherd and as "The Wandering Minstrel,"Lynn sang exceptionally well" with fellow peers from Ballina Intermediate High School at Masonic Hall December 8 1932 (Northern Star newspaper Lismore, pd. December 9 1932, pp.6)

Lynn was a singing sensation in the community of Ballina NSW. He would perform solos and duets with his mother Muriel Duncan and Grandma Annie H Gallaugher at St. Mary's Church Ballina. (countless publications in the main local Northern Star newspaper Ballina 1930s)

Lynn dubbed as "the boy soprano", the main feature soloist of St. Mary's Ballina from the exclusive choir of St. Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney. (published newspaper Northern Star Lismore NSW, pd. October 21 1933, pp.9)

It was noted in the local newspaper that Lynn broke his arm returning from a beach trip near Black Heads Tuesday June 5 1934 and is described as "well-known in musical circles" (Published np. Northern Star Ballina, pp.3, pd. June 6 1934)

Lynn enlisted into the Royal Australian Air Force in August 1942, aged 22 years. His enlistment was received by recruitment officer Mr J. Growcock for air crew [Narrandera](Local 1942).
