• It is most likely that Lucy Bywaters was only married once (14 Feb 1789) to William Duncan (1768-1851) and NOT Louis (1770-1828). (Named in Robert Bywaters' Will as spouse of William (will executed August 12 1828)^[1]. Research indicates Louis' spouse Mary Nelson had children between 1804-1821. Lucy died about 1805. More Sources needed to prove or disprove Bywater relationships. (No contemporary Lucy Bywaters located)

No original source records have been located to confirm birth or marriage. It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and perhaps republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure .
