Biography

Abigai Duncan l was born on November 4, 1859 ^[1]in Indiana. She was the daughter of David Dunkin and Mary Dillman. She was the 3rd child of 6 children. At 8 months old, She was in her parent's home in Carrellton Twp., Carroll county, Indiana, along with two siblings, Joseph-7, and Margaret-3.^[2] By 1970, at age 10, she had 3 more siblings.^[3]

She married Charles E. Stratton (1858-1933) on June 9, 1883, at the age of 24, in Indiana, with the Reverend M Wayman presiding.^[4] They had 3 children 2 living in 1900.

1. Mable Alice Stratton Ramseyer (1883-1971) m. Melvin Howard Ramseyer.^[5]
2. Ina Florence Stratton Orem (1889-1959) m. Fern Orem Sep 5, 1908.^[6]

They made their home in Harrison, Howard County, Indiana, in 1900 where Charles was a farmer, and whe was tending the home and raising the children, Mable-16,and Ina-11.^[7]They were Still on the farm In 1910.^[8]

Her husband Charles passed away on March 3, 1933, at the age of 74. They had been married 50 years.

She died on August 26, 1947, at the age of 88, in Indiana, and was buried in the Friends Cemetery in New London, Howard County, Indiana.^[1]
