In 1850, Calvin was 14 years. He was living with his father John and stepmother Catharine and 2 half siblings, William 2 yrs old and Matilda less than a year old. They were residing in Ashe County, Ashe, North Carolina. [1]
In 1860, Calvin, 24 years old was living with his wife Rebecca in Yancey, North Carolina.[2]
