Sussex Formed 1753-4 from Surry
It appears that some erroneous information may have been published, and perhaps republished/reported, making the “actual facts” obscure. (Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling of records, Lack of records; conflicting stories; number of Duncan’s with the same names, inter-marriages, etc.)
Spouse - Nancy vs Ann vs Ray (Wray) vs. Ogletree Confusion [1]
Miles Duncan's wife "Nancy" (aka Ann) Ogletree, daughter of John Ogletree, Sr. (prominent in John Sr's will; estate distribution, and estate receipts to show that Ann/Nancy, (widow of Miles Duncan), was his (jOHN SR's) daughter.
Records may have been co-mingled between daughter (Ann) and wife (Ann) including transcription errors leading to erroneous assumption of Miles' Daughter (Ann) presumed marriage John Ogletree (Exec. of Will). Many people believed Miles Duncan was actually the father in law of John Ogletree (Sr). Through the research of people like Mary Ann Dobson (DUNCANS) and Rhoda Fone (OGLETREE) it was proven that this was impossible and that Miles Duncan was actually the son-in-law of John Ogletree.
Apparently (Miles' wife Ann) married Chesley Ray after Miles Duncan died in 1791.
Possibly a "Contemporary Miles" but unproven at this time. Parents presumed to be Nathaniel and Agnes as most likely from other court records. Many researchers indicate "Ann Wheeler" (Daughter of Thomas A Wheeler and Agnes S Wilkins) as the Unknown Ann; but (proven) cannot be wife of Miles (Ann Was married to Thomas P. Duncan, son of Caleb Duncan Sr. and Betsey Lucas, on 27 June 1826 at Northampton Co, VA)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Miles by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Miles:
