Discrepancy

There is a great deal of conflicting information surrounding The Early Duncan Families – Many Source-to-Source discrepancies; co-mingling, Lack of records; conflicting family stories; number of Duncan’s with the same names, etc.

Biography

William Duncan is a member of Duncan Clan.

William Duncan, son of John and Dinah Bradford, was born about 1750.[1]

William married Lydia Duncan about May 16, 1780, Lydia ("a cousin") was born about 1756, and was the daughter of Rice and Elizabeth Duncan. [2][3]

William and Lydia moved from Fauquier Co. VA to (Harrison County) Nicholas Co. KY about 1800 (now Robertson Co. KY). [4]

B-453: Will of William Duncan 1 Dec. 1828, Proved March, 1830. names wife Lydia Duncan. . . .my seven children hereafter named; . . . . son Mason and son in law John Reitzell executors. Wit. A.M.Cannon, Ellis Ashcraft, Blair Reitzel. [5]
