Samuel Duncan, son of Robert Duncan and Ann Gallop
Samuel married Nancy Withers, daughter of James Withers Jr and Catherine Barbee, about 1764 in Fauquier County, Virginia Colony .
He served in the military as a Private in Clark's Illinois Regiment (DAR accepted). A list of those serving under Clark is shown in "The Scotch-Irish: Or, The Scot in North Britain, North Ireland and North America Vol 1. By Charles Augustus Hanna Page 53" The names include Duncan.
He moved to Kentucky County, Virginia (now Kentucky), in 1785
Samuel made a will in Pulaski County, Kentucky dated 2-274: 2 April 1821; Proved 1825[1]
In 1828, Wm. Duncan, Garrard Co. Ky., deposes that his father, Samuel Duncan died in 1825, Pulaski Co. Ky. leaving a will devising his property to his six children, VIZ: John, Daniel, and Wm. Duncan, Susan McNeely, Betsy wife of Humphry Pope and Hannah wife of Stephen Wilkerson; from Garrard Co. Ky.: [2]
