In the late 1820’s Thomas, along with his sons William Lane Duncan, John F. Duncan and E(Elihu). Garner Duncan, Sr emigrated to Russell’s Valley, Alabama, and then to Hardeman County, Tennessee. Thomas m. 1st Elizabeth (1766-1842) (presumed Elizabeth Mcharg (Meharg), (Born in North Carolina, about 1764 --daughter of John Meharg and Susanna Wood) McHurgh/McHarg of Laurens Co.
