Margaret was born 21 Aug 1860, in the rural town of Thurman, Fremont County, Iowa. [1][2] According to the obituary found in The Malvern Leader (Malvern, Iowa) on Thu, Jun 28, 1951 - Page 1, it states: " The following sketch was read at the services: Margaret E. Bayes, daughter of Robert and Mary Duncan was born near Thurman Aug. 21, 1860 and left to be with her Lord June 21, 1951." Margaret Duncan married Benjamin E. Bayes. [3] In the above mentioned obituary it also stated: "She was united in marriage with Benjamin E. Bayes Feb. 16, 1881. To this union six children were born. Her husband and six year old daughter, Mary preceded her in death." "She was raised in a very strict Presbyterian home but soon after her marriage she united with the Methodist church." Emma was living in the Horton Rest Home when she died of "Carcinoma of large bowel."
She passed away in 1951.[4]
