Harriett "Hattie" Dunkin was born on July 27, 1873 in Liberty Twp., Delaware County Indiana.[1] She was the daughter of John Dunkin and Julia Ann DeWitt. She lived in Liberty, Delaware, Indiana with her parents and sisters in 1880.[2]
She married Charles Stiffler on March 2, 1898 in Delaware County, Indiana.[3] They had 4 children.

Nodas Leon Stiffler (1914-1996)
They made their home in Liberty Twp., Delaware County, Indiana in 1900, where Charles was engaged in Farming. At the time they had his Widowed father, Joseph Stiffler-58, living with them and helping with the farm.[4] By 1910, Niles-6, and Jane-4, nad been born and were in the home.[5] In 1920 they were on the farm with all 4 children, Niles W-16, Louise J-14, Franklin-9, and Nodas L-5.[6] By 1930, it was Charles farming with Hattie -57, and 3 of the children, Jane-24, Franklin D.-19, and Nodas-15, in the home.[7] In 1940 they were living in Selma, Delaware County, Indiana on their farm with Jane-34, the only child left in the home.[8]
She died at the age of 69, on May December 1942, in Delaware County, Indiana, and was buried in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.[1]
