Dunn was informant. 2 Alexander emigrated with his parents from Scotland to America when Alexander was 5 years old. (1848) and landed at Quebec, Canada. George purchased a farm in Cray Co Ontario of 50 acres but soon sold it and located about six miles distant from the first. Alexander lived here until manhood. On obtaining his majority, he engaged in working on various farms by the month and followed that vocation for 4 or 5 years when he came to this state (Michigan). He first worked for the Detroit and Milwaukee RR at Linden. employed there for 6 or 7 months then went back to Canada, and then returned to Birmingham MI and engaged in RR for another season. Next moved to Loomis, Isabella Cty where he worked for the Flint and Pere Marquette RR for one year. He then purchased 80 acres of wild land from a party who had homesteaded it. Section 20, Geneva Twp in May 1875 and made this his residence since.
