Biography

Joseph Dunn was born on 15 June 1901^[1] as the son of Joseph Dunn and Louisa Pritchard in Mangawhare, Dargaville, New Zealand.

He Married Mary Pirrit on 1 December 1926 in New Zealand^[2] Using the name Joseph James Dunn.

They had four children - Twins Mervyn and Raymond (born 1927), Bruce (born 1932) and Ngaire (born 1935).

He was living in 1928 in New Lynn working as a Labourer^[3] and was there in 1935^[4] and in 1938^[5].

He was living in 1946 in New Lynn working as a Brewery Hand^[6] and in 1949^[7]

He was living in 1954 in Avondale working as a Brewery Hand^[8]

He was living in 1954 in Avondale working as a Labourer^[9] and was there in 1963^[10].

He was a retired Labourer when he died on 25 March 1981 in Auckland, New Zealand^[11] under the name of James Joseph Dunn.

He was cremated^[12] also under that name in Waikumete Cemetery.

There is a possible Coroners inquest file for him^[13] but it will be restricted access for 70 years from year of registration on the grounds of personal privacy (including those documents in sealed envelopes). Permission to access these files must be obtained from the Coronial Services.
