Eliz Gilaspie was enumerated at Post Office Mt. Airy, Hollow Springs District, Surry County, North Carolina for the July 16, United States Census, 1860. She was noted as born 1789 in North Carolina and a widow as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Tire Gilaspie, female Sarah Gilaspie, female Martha Gillaspie, female Elizabeth Gillaspie and male Riley J Gillaspie.[1]
Eliz. Gillaspie was listed as the mother of E.H. Gillaspie who wed Mary J Lewis February 14, 1870 in Surry County, North Carolina. The father was listed as Olx. Gillaspie. The bride's father was listed as Kana Lewis and her mother Keala Lewis.[2]
Elizabeth Gillespie was enumerated at Mt. Airy Post Office, Pilot Township, Surry County, North Carollina for the July 27, United States Census, 1870. She was noted as born 1789-1790 in North Carolina and keeping house. She had $400 in value of real estate and $200 in value of personal assets as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Sarah Gillespie, female Martha Gillespie, female Elizabeth Gillespie and male Thomas Marsh.[3]
