Mary was born in 1813 in England. It was there that she married Samuel Treleaven. Husband, Samuel, Mary and their family emigrated to New Zealand aboard the vessel "Castle Eden", which departed England on 28 September 1850 and arrived into Lyttelton on 14 February 1851. Samuel was recorded on the passenger list as a "painter and sawyer", aged 34, Mary Ann, aged 37 and children - James (aged 12), Charles (aged 10), George (aged 7) and Emma Jane (aged 5). .[1] She passed away in 1885 aged 72 years old. [2]
