Hi Craig, I'm interested if you have a specific person where the name change from Dunstone to Dunstan occurred. Phonetically, the sound of Dunstone can be very similar to Dunston and Dunstan. I have an occurrence where a Dunstone grandfather has a Dunston son and Dunstan grandson. Accents, rapid or lazy pronunciations and poor listening skills all contribute of course.
