Available birth records reveal a boy named Thomas Durbin was baptised on 31 August 1651 at St. Margaret Church, Westminster, London[1] There is no proof this is the same person as this profile.
No record of the immigration of Thomas Durbin to Maryland has been found. There is a record that a man named Thomas Durbin was bound to Thomas Covey for 4 years service in Nevis on 17 March 1662 but this may be a different person.[2]
Property
There are two different deeds recorded in Baltimore County Land records about a tract of land called Johnston. They are both very difficult to read, but it appears that he Thomas bought the above tract of land from two brothers. The deed dated 10 CCT 1676 is between Thomas Durbin of the Severne in Anne Arundel and Walter Dickinson of Talbot County and mentions 2,500 pounds of tobacco to purchase the 200 acre tract. [3] Thomas Durbin is called of Baltimore County on the second deed dated 23 NOV 1679 and it is for the same tract of land, but is signed by John Dickinson. It seems that both brothers owned the land and the second deed was needed to confirm the title.[4] In 1684 Thomas acquired patents on two further tracts of land called "Thomas's Addition" and "Westminster".[5]
Thomas Durbin then appears, on his own, in the tax rolls for Patapscoe Hundred in 1692, 1694 and 1695.[6]
Death
Thomas died by 3 May 1697 when his estate was inventoried in Baltimore County, Maryland. [7][8]
His wife Mary may have died at the same time but was definitely dead by 4 May 1699 as the administration account for his estate includes a sum for funeral charges for Thomas Durbin and his wife 2 black walnut coffins.[9]

Durbin and Logsdon Geneology with Related Families 1626-1998[10]
According to Kerry William Bate in his book, The Ebenezer H(111,ks Story,18 he states on page 136:
"Christopher Durbin is perhaps the first known ancestor of our Durbin family. Evidence indicates the name originated in Somerset, England. No trace of his origin is evident in the London parish registers we have consulted. We have also searched LDS microfiche (as of 1980) for each county in England for Durbins, and have found no further clues."
"We find this Christopher Durbin in 1649 at St. Margaret's, Westminster, London, where his first child was christened. After the birth of his son Thomas, his wife Margaret died, and she was buried 13 September 1651. Christopher married (2) Elizabeth , who is identified in the christening of his son Henry. The mother of son Christopher is not identified, but is undoubtedly also this Elizabeth.
Children: surname DURBIN by Margaret:
1. Frances, christened 30 Sept. 1649, St. Margaret's; buried 21 Dec. 1649, St. Margaret's.
2. Thomas, christened 31 August 1651, St. Margaret's
Children: surname DURBIN by Elizabeth:
3. Christopher, christened 10 July 1653, St. Margaret's
4. Henry "Durban", christened 20 Aug. 1654, St. Mary, Colechurch, London"

Samuel Durbin, Sr. was born ca 1698, the son of Thomas and Mary? Downs. In St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Baltimore, the records show that on July 4, 1723, Samuel Durbin married Ann Logsdon (of William Logsdon, the Immigrant, and Honor O'Flynn). Even though she was Catholic, they were married in an Anglican Church because of the opposition to the Catholic religion at that time. There are quite a few documentary references tohim, and his thirteen children are equally delineated in both the will of Samuel and that of his wife. He is noted as "of Little Pipe Creek Hundred" which was immedi ately west of Westminster, Maryland.
Death
8 MAY 1689, Baltimore, Maryland, British America -- There is no documentation to show when and where he died. I've removed the date that was entered. Incidentally, this is the same year that he allegedly married. So, the date could have just been entered in the wrong field. -- Fiscus-32 09:36, 10 December 2016 (EST) --
marriage date was very possibly entered in wrong field as I've now found the inventory of his estate in 1697 and the inventory account in 1699-- Templeton-1883 10:05, 15 January 2017 (EST)--

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
