Biography
"OF this parish there is no mention in the Domesday survey, taken in 1086, and it is probable that at that time it was principally waste land belonging to the Earl of Chester. It was subsequently granted to Geoffrey de Dutton, son of Hugh de Dutton of Dutton, whose descendants took the local name of Chedle." [1]
