Adam Dutton performed Patriotic Service in Virginia in the American Revolution.

Adam Derting (later called Dutton) was born 6 Mar 1760 in Wythe County, Virginia.[1]

Adam performed the Patriotic Service of paying for services rendered in 1782 during the American Revolution.[2]

He died 10 Oct 1833 in Wythe County, and was buried in Kimberling Lutheran Church Cemetery.[1]

Note N100Johann Adam Derting was a passenger on the ship 'Richard & Mary' in 1752. It says,"The Foreigners whose Names are underwritten, Imported in the Ship Richard and Mary, John Moore, Master, from Roterdam, and last from Portsmouth, took the usual Qualifications to the Government, Before Joshua Maddox, Esquire. The Twenty Sixth Day of September 1752. No. 91." That means he took the oath of allegiance to England that day.

Shouldn't Derting be the name at birth rather than the "other name"? Derting/Darting was the original, German spelling of the name.
