Elizabeth Dye was born on May 18, 1800, in Washington, Pennsylvania, the child of John M. Dye and Elizabeth Clyne. She had four sons and one daughter with James F. Dye between 1825 and 1840. She died on March 29, 1885, in Staunton, Ohio, having lived a long life of 84 years.
