Bernard Joseph Beecher Dye, the son of Maurice Eugene Dye (1856-1938) and Alice Rosetta Gates, was born in 1905 in North Dakota.
Bernie J. Dye, 68, of 644 South Arlington Ave., died in a local hospital Sunday. A native of Sheldon, North Dakota, he was born 20 August 1905. He was retired from the ship repair facilities after 30 years at Guam and had moved to Reno 14 months ago. He was a former president of the Lassen Rock and Mineral Society, a member of the State Plumbing and Construction Association, and a member of the Elks Lodge Agana, Guam Lodge No. 1281.
Surviving were his widow, Marjorie of Reno; daughters, Judith Zdonis of Pleasant Hills, California, Bernadine Guyton of Chico, California, and Candance Edel of New York; brothers, Dexter of San Leandro, California, and Frank of Rock Springs, Wyoming; sister, Clarice King of Rockford, Washington; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
