William was born about 1838. He is the son of John Eade.
William Eade, 20, labourer of 31 White Cross St, son of John Eade, labourer, married Mary Ann Catten, 26, of 4 King Street, daughter of John Catten, shoemaker, by banns on 7 Feb 1858 in St Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex, England. The witnesses were John Catten and Charlotte Catten. The Cattens signed their own names, but John Eade made a mark.[1]

The attached father is James, but William’s marriage record clearly has his father’s name written John. James does have a son called William of the correct age, but otherwise there is no reason to believe that James is this William’s father.
Possible birth in Brighton:
EDE, WILLIAM; Mother’s Maiden Name: WALDER; GRO Reference: 1839 D Quarter in BRIGHTHELMSTON Volume 07 Page 231 - this is most likely not him, probably being the child of Richard Ede and Harriet Walder who married in Brighton on 17 Oct 1832.[9]
